PM Modi Oath: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his ministry took oath Sunday after the NDA formed a union government. The third PM Modi's ministry witnessed many old faces as cabinet and state ministers including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, former party chief JP Nadda, Nirmala Sitharaman, S Jaishankar and Piyush Goyal. However, many former Chief Ministers of the BJP were included this time in Modi 3.0, marking an elevation of state leaders to the central stage.
As many as 7 former Chief Ministers were invited to take oath as ministers in the third PM Modi-led NDA government. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself was chief minister of Gujarat for three terms before being elected as the PM, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and architect of BJP's landslide win in both assembly and Lok Sabha elections, Shivraj Singh Chouhan have also been promoted as a cabinet minister. Notably, the party handed over the baton of Madhya Pradesh to Mohan Yadav.

Former Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh Rajnath Singh, of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar, Assam Sarbananda Sonowal, of Karnataka H.D. Kumaraswamy, and Bihar Jitan Ram Manjhi are also part of Modi's new team. Former Chief Ministers of seven different states are prepared to play an important role in the central government.
