RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday stressed that India must stay alert and defend its security despite friendly approaches from various nations. He added that the stance of different countries after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack revealed India’s true friends. The remarks were made by the RRS Chief while addressing the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh on Thursday.
“Terrorists from across the border killed 26 Indians after asking about their religion. The entire nation was mourning and angry about the terror attack. With complete preparations, our government and armed forces gave a befitting reply (to the attack). The government’s dedication, the armed forces’ valour, and the unity in the society presented an ideal atmosphere in the country," Mohan Bhagwat said, as quoted by news agency ANI.
Mohan Bhagwat also warned of 'unconstitutional elements’ within India who are trying to destabilise the country.
“The role played by various nations after this incident and our operation revealed our true friends. Within the country as well, there are unconstitutional elements who try to destabilise the country," he added.
The RSS chief also talked about the instability in the neighbouring countries and how it is concerning for India and its people.
“They concern our own region and people, some of whom were part of India in the past. This is why it is a matter of concern, not merely for national security, but because it affects our sense of belonging and emotional connection," Bhagwat said.
Founded in 1925 in Nagpur, Maharashtra, by Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the RSS was established as a volunteer-based organisation with the goal of fostering cultural awareness, discipline, service, and social responsibility among citizens.
