In a surprising incident, a monkey snatched a bag filled with around Rs 2 lakh from a man in the district court complex in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr, before climbing to a tree and raining down the currency.

The bag belonged to Ravindra, who was heading to purchase the stamp paper when the monkey approached him all of a sudden. Sohanpal, an advocate in the Bulandshahr district court, told news agency PTI that Ravindra was on his way to purchase stamp papers on Saturday and was carrying about Rs 2 lakh in a bag.

He added that Ravindra was accompanied by his associate Aamir when the monkey suddenly approached him and grabbed the bag.

The monkey climbed onto a tree inside the court premises and tore the bag open. Seconds later, it started throwing currency notes down. The incident sparked a crowd rush to the site.

Within minutes, people gathered beneath the tree in surprise. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

The now viral clip shows a monkey raining notes on the ground while a few people are picking up money. A man could also be seen climbing the tree, apparently to get the bag from the monkey.

People present on site helped Ravindra gather the currency notes and returned the money to him. According to the people present on the spot, no loss of currency was reported and all cash was recovered.
