One person died while 10 others got injured after the wall of an eatery near Bageshwar Dham collapsed on Tuesday. The incident happened due to heavy rain in the area.

“Some devotees got injured due to a wall collapse at an eatery in Bageshwar Dham amid heavy rain. People who got injured were brought to the hospital and are currently being treated by a team of doctors. We will decide if there was a need to refer some persons to other places for better treatment. All persons have been evacuated from the rubble. We have received one body and 10 injured persons at the hospital,” CMHO, Chhatarpur RP Gupta said to ANI.

This came days after one person was killed and ten others were injured after a tin shed collapsed at Bageshwar Dham. The incident took place when devotees had gathered to celebrate the birthday of self-styled godman Dhirendra Shastri.

The collapse of the tin shed triggered panic, leading to a stampede-like situation.

Meanwhile, Dhirendra Shastri has requested devotees to celebrate the Guru Purnima festival at their homes, considering the overwhelming number of devotees and continuous rainfall at Bageshwar Dham.

Dhirendra Shastri stated that lakhs of people are arriving each day to participate in the Guru Purnima celebrations. However, due to the heavy crowd and ongoing rain, he has urged devotees to observe the festival from the safety of their homes.
