In a surprising incident, a man allegedly stole a transformer and took it home to prevent the snapping of the power connection by the company over unpaid dues in Madhya Pradesh's Bhind district, as per a report by The Times of India.

According to the report, the incident took place under the Aswar power distribution centre of the Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company, and the accused has been identified as Shriram Bihari Tripathi of Rawatpura village.

After dismantling the transformer, they hid it inside their residence, fearing that unpaid dues would lead to seizure of the transformer.

Abhishek Soni, Assistant Manager of the Aswar distribution centre, filed a complaint at Rawatpura police station. He asserted that the accused owes Rs 1,49,795 in electricity bills.

Anticipating that the transformer would be seized, he tampered with the electrical lines and hid the equipment at his residence. Speaking about the case, Rawatpura police station in-charge, Kamalkant Dubey, told TOI, "A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections and efforts are on to recover the transformer. We are hopeful of recovering the transformer soon".
