Madhya Pradesh News: A 25-year-old man in Madhya Pradesh’s Burhanpur district was brutally killed after being stabbed 36 times with a broken beer bottle. The attack was allegedly carried out by his teenage wife and three others, including her lover and his two friends, one of whom is a minor, police said on Thursday.
The incident took place near ITI College on the Indore-Ichapur highway while the victim, identified as Golden Pandey alias Rahul, was returning home with his wife. According to police, the couple had gone out for shopping and dinner and were on a two-wheeler when the murder happened.
Burhanpur Superintendent of Police Devendra Patidar said that the teenage girl asked Rahul to stop the bike, pretending she had dropped her slippers. As he stopped, two of her lover’s friends approached and dragged Rahul aside. The three then stabbed him repeatedly with a broken beer bottle, resulting in his death on the spot.
Following the attack, the girl reportedly made a video call to her lover, Yuvraj, showing him Rahul’s body. The group then dumped the body in a nearby field and fled the area. Police found the body on Sunday, April 13 and began an investigation.
Rahul’s family told police that he was last seen with his wife. When the girl was later found missing, it raised suspicions. Investigating teams were formed, leading to the arrest of Yuvraj and his friend Lalit Patil, while the two minors were detained.
Police said the suspects confessed to planning and executing the murder. After the crime, Yuvraj and Lalit first escaped to Itarsi and then went to Ujjain before being caught. All four have been charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, and destruction of evidence.
The couple had reportedly been married for only four months before the murder took place. The investigation is ongoing.
