Just days after the devastating fire at a hotel in Delhi's Malviya Nagar that claimed around 21 lives, fresh fire incidents reported on June 5 have once again raised concerns over fire safety across urban India. Major blazes were reported in Noida's high-rise residential sector, a commercial building in Sector 52, and parts of Rajasthan , Indore and Delhi, keeping fire services on high alert.

Massive Fire Breaks Out In Noida 

A massive fire broke out in the Ivy County Society in Noida's Sector 75 at around 8 AM on Friday, reportedly due to a short circuit. As per the reports, the fire broke out on the 12th floor of the high-rise building, leading to panic among the residents. 

Upon receiving the information, several fire tenders rushed to the society to control the flames. According to initial reports, there are no casualties; however, the incident led to panic among the children and elders.

In a separate incident, an incident of fire occurred at a commercial complex in Sector 52 here in the morning on Friday. Around 15 people were rescued safely, and the fire was brought under control. 

Chief Fire Officer, Pradeep Kumar, stated the incident occurred at a complex near Shatabdi Vihar under Sector 24 police station limits. There is a restaurant on the ground floor and P G in upper floor.

"Immediately after receiving the information, fire service units and local police reached the spot and started the firefighting operation. The fire had started due to a short circuit in a freezer installed at the restaurant," PTI quoted Kumar. 

Tata Communications office Fire

Besides Noida, a fire took place in the battery room in the office of Tata Communications in Nehru Place, South Delhi. Delhi fire services received a call of fire inside a 5-storeyed building at 2:47 AM opposite Savitri Cinema, reports officials. 

Fire tenders rushed to the spot and got control over the flames by 7:05 AM. No casualty has been reported by fire service officials till now.

Rajasthan Fire

Massive fire raged through Bhiwadi's industrial area on Friday, which engulfed two neighbouring factories after an explosion. The workers had to flee their respective facilities in terror while thick black smoke shrouded the area. 

Numerous fire tenders arrived to douse the fire, which caused severe damage to the factories and other surrounding equipment. The loss is being assessed, and investigations are underway to find out what caused the accident.

Indore Fire

A fire broke out at around 8:15 am Friday in an electric vehicle showroom located on the ground floor of an apartment building in Scheme 136 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Six families living on the two floors above were trapped in the blaze. 

Upon receiving information about the incident, nearby residents, police, and the fire brigade arrived at the scene. Locals launched a rescue operation using ropes and ladders, evacuating more than 20 people safely.

Why do fire accidents spike during the summer months? 

Experts believe this is not a coincidence. Intense heat coupled with high electricity usage, electrical load, aged wiring, and a dry environment provides an ideal setup for the outbreak and fast spread of fires.

Air conditioners, refrigerators and coolers which run for extended hours during the hot months put a lot of stress on electrical systems and can easily cause short circuits and machinery breakdowns.
