Mumbai School Bomb Threat: In Mumbai’s western suburbs, the Kandivali Education Society (KES) school and Junior College received an alarming email on Monday, January 27. The email sent to the administration of the school claimed to have planted a bomb on their premises. The sender, identified as part of the ‘Afzal gang’, issued this threat, prompting immediate actions from the authorities.
In response to the email, a thorough search of the institution was conducted by the local police, along with Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and dog units. After an extensive sweep, no suspicious items were found, leading officials to determine that the threat was a hoax.
In a similar turn of incidents, a school in the Jogeshwari-Oshiwara area received an identical email threat from the ‘Afzal gang’ on January 23.
"The local law enforcement, along with an explosive detection team dispatched to launch a thorough investigation at the school to ensure the safety of the students and staff," news agency ANI quoted Mumbai Police. After several searches by the authorities, the case was determined as a hoax threat.
