The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is making efforts to complete the construction on Metro Line-9 with the goal of opening the first phase, Dahisar East to Kashigaon, by the end of the year, according to a report by Free Press Journal (FPJ). 

As per the report, Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee recently met with Managing Director of Alstom India Anil Kumar Saini to discuss progress on signalling for metro corridors including Metro-9. The meeting focused on accelerating timelines and using global expertise for efficient and timely project execution.

Report suggest that MMRDA has adopted advanced technology and assigned team leaders to each metro project to ensure timely completion and maintain world-class standards. Dr. Mukherjee emphasised that all technology partners are working together with the same enthusiasm to transform Mumbai’s urban mobility.

Notably, Metro Line-9 is a crucial route which extends Metro Line-7 is to be built in two phases. Covering a total distance of 11.38 km from Dahisar East to Mira Bhayandar, the Phase 1 will runs from Dahisar East to Kashigaon while Phase 2 will extend from Kashigaon to Subhash Chandra Bose Stadium in Mira Bhayandar.

An official said, "The corridor will include two key interchange stations. Dahisar East will connect with Metro Line-7 and Metro Line-2, while Miragaon will link with the upcoming Metro Line-10."

"With MMRDA fast-tracking the project, commuters can expect improved connectivity and reduced travel time between Mumbai’s suburbs and Mira Bhayandar. The completion of Metro Line-9 will significantly enhance Mumbai’s public transport network, helping to reduce congestion and promote sustainable urban mobility" he added.
