Namma Metro Update: The green city of India is likely to receive the longest double-decker flyover along the corridors of Namma Metro Phase 3. Bengaluru's longest double-decker flyover, which is planned under Namma Metro phase 3, will feature entry and exit ramps at five locations, and loops will also be built at nine locations.
According to a senior official familiar with the matter, the ramps and loops will be built to serve traffic needs. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) will be responsible for the execution of the work. The BMRCL will build a double-decker flyover in both corridors of the 44.65-km-long Phase 3. The double-deck flyover will span a length of 37.121 km.
The first corridor of the Namma Metro Phase 3, which will connect JP Nagar 4th Phase to Kempapura, covering the western stretch of the Outer Ring Road, will feature a 28.486 km double-decker flyover connecting Delmia Circle to Hebbal.
In the second corridor of Namma Metro Phase 3, which will connect Hosahalli to Kadabagere along Magadi Road, an 8.635-km double-decker from KHB Colony to Kadabagere will be inducted.
Existing Flyover To Be Demolished Before Constructing New
In corridor 1 of Bengaluru Namma Metro Phase 3, before the construction of the newly planned double-decker flyover, the existing will be taken down at Delmia Circle, from where the construction will begin with a 631-metre entry/exit ramp.
The end point of the ramp will be at Hebbal, where the flyover will separate from the metro line. The Fyover will move towards the airport, and the Metro line will go towards Kempapura, the terminal station.
In the second corridor of the Namma Metro Phase 3, the entry/exit ramps will be built at KHB Colony (Hosahalli), Sunkadakatte and Kadabagere.
At Sunkadakatte, they will build sloping roads (ramps) on both sides of the metro depot. This will lower the height of the elevated track (viaduct). Because of this, the entry ramp for trains going into the depot will fit easily in the available land.
