  3. Enhances first and last-mile connectivity for Metro commuters.

Two new bus stops will be introduced near Cubbon Park and Taverecere to ensure access for metro commuters. The initiative is taken by the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) in coordination with the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). The arrangements came into effect on October 6, 2026.

New BMTC Stops At Cubbon Park Metro Station

At Cubbon Park Metro station on the Purple Line, two new bus stops have been provided at different entrances for serving commuters travelling in opposite directions. A new stop on the Chinnaswamy Stadium side near Entrance B has been created by the authorities. It will serve buses travelling from the Indian Express side and travelling towards Shantinagar via Anil Kumble Circle.

Another stop has been set up near Entrance C for buses coming from the Anil Kumble Circle side and travelling towards Lok Bhavan (Raj Bhavan). The two stops are likely to make bus transfers more convenient for Metro users travelling towards key destinations around the central Bengaluru area.

Bus Stop at Taverecere Metro Station

A new BMTC bus stop has also been made at the Tavarekere Metro station on the upcoming Pink Line. This new stop will serve buses coming from Dairy Circle towards Bannerghatta Road as well as buses travelling from Jayadeva Hospital towards Dairy Circle.

The facility is intended to provide a smoother connection between the Metro station and surrounding areas along the Bannerghatta Road corridor.

The new stops are part of the coordinated efforts by BMRCL and BMTC to strengthen public transport connectivity around Metro stations.

First- and last-mile connectivity is particularly important for Metro commuters who need to use buses to reach their final destination or connect with the Metro from nearby neighbourhoods.

BMRCL has urged Metro commuters to use the newly launched facilities for more convenient bus and Metro connections. With the introduction of new stops, commuters using Cubbon Park and Tavarekere Metro stations will now have designated BMTC boarding points nearer to the stations, reducing the need to walk further to access connecting bus services.
