Narasapur-Chennai Vande Bharat Train To Start Operations From Today, Dec 15 | Check Route, Timings, Stoppages And Fare

Narasapur-Chennai Vande Bharat Launch: Indian Railway is set to launch a Vande Bharat Express service connecting Narasapur in Andhra Pradesh with Chennai, extending the existing Chennai-Vijayawada service. The train will begin operations on the Narasapur-Chennai from December 15, 2025, while the return service on the Chennai-Narasapur will begin on December 17, 2025.

The Vande Bharat train is expected to significantly reduce travel time and improve connectivity between the two cities.

Narasapur-Chennai-Narasapur Vande Bharat: Check Details

In a statement, the Southern Railway (SR) zone announced the extension of the existing Dr MGR Chennai Central-Vijayawada Vande Bharat Express up to Narasapur.

- According to the Southern Railway, Train No. 20678 will run between Narasapur and Dr MGR Chennai Central starting today, December 15.

- The return service, Train No. 20677, connecting Dr MGR Chennai Central to Narasapur, will commence its operations from December 17, The Indian Express reported.

- The semi-high-speed train will run six days a week, except Tuesdays, offering passengers a fast and convenient travel option between Coastal Andhra and Chennai.

Narasapur-Chennai Vande Bharat: Check Travel Time

The newly extended Vande Bharat Express is set to significantly reduce travel time between Narasapur and Chennai. The semi-high-speed train will cover a distance of 655 kilometres in 8 hours and 55 minutes.

Narasapur-Chennai Vande Bharat: Check Stoppages

The Narasapur-Chennai Vande Bharat Express will halt at seven key stations along the route, including Renigunta Junction, Nellore, Ongole, Tenali Junction, Vijayawada Junction, Gudivada Junction, and Bhimavaram Town, The Indian Express report added.

Narasapur-Chennai Vande Bharat: Check Schedule

The Chennai-bound Vande Bharat service will depart from Narasapur at 2:50 PM and is scheduled to reach Dr MGR Chennai Central at 11:45 PM the same day, while the Narasapur-bound service will start its journey from Dr MGR Chennai Central at 5:30 AM and will arrive in Narasapur by 2:10 PM.

Narasapur-Chennai Vande Bharat: Check Fare

The fare for the AC Chair Car (CC) is fixed at Rs 1,635, while the Executive Chair Car (EC) is priced at Rs 3,030, offering a faster, convenient and enhanced service on the Narasapur-Chennai route.
