NCP leader Praful Patel has reportedly declined the Minister of State charge, calling it a "demotion" from the Union Cabinet rank. The former Union Minister clarified that there is no confusion between his party and BJP and the leadership has assured him of remedial measures.

Four-time former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is set to begin new political innings as Union minister. The 65-year-old BJP veteran will be be inducted into the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Cabinet on Sunday evening, reports IANS, citing sources.

Several members of the transgender community will attend the oath-taking ceremony of Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi. BJP MP-elect Virendra Kumar says, "When we talk about 'Sabka Sath' we include everyone and with this NDA is moving towards its third tenure. We will work to take forward the agenda of NDA."

Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal reaches New Delhi to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi at Rashtrapati Bhavan today.

Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, who is in New Delhi to attend the swearing-in ceremony of PM Modi, says, "Well, the ties between our two countries are very strong. I think it's going to get stronger, and it will get stronger simply because at the highest levels in Bhutan, under the enlightened leadership of our monarchs, his Majesty the King, and in India, from the President to the Prime Minister to many of the leaders, the regard for our two respective countries is very strong, and it is only growing."

Republican Party of India Rajya Sabha MP Ramdas Athawale says, "Today, Narendra Modi will take oath as the PM for the third time. It is a matter of pride for the entire country. The oath-taking ceremony will be done today, and the portfolios will be decided tomorrow. I will be happy with whatever portfolio I am given. Around 60 leaders of the NDA were present in the tea meeting today."

BJP leader V Somanna says, "I have been given the opportunity to become a Union minister. I thank the PM, Amit Shah, JP Nadda and party leaders. Today, 5 people from Karnataka are taking oath as Union ministers - Nirmala Sitharaman, Prahlad Joshi, Shobha Karandlaje, HD Kumaraswamy and me."

After attending the tea meeting at Modi's residence, BJP MP-elect Raksha Khadse says, "It is a matter of pride for me as I have worked as a BJP worker for several years. I hope that I can serve the country in the future. It feels good to get the opportunity to work with Modi ji. He congratulated us and said that we have to work together for the country."

BJP MP-elect Ravneet Singh Bittu says "It is a very big thing for me that they (NDA) have chosen me in their cabinet even after losing the elections. Punjab has been given priority this time. I will prepare the ground for BJP to win the Assembly elections in 2027. Just 2 years ago, the people of Punjab rejected Congress, everyone knows the work that AAP is doing. So, people have only one option which is BJP. I would like to become the Chief Minister of Punjab if given a chance."

From Telangana, where the saffron party made huge gains, bagging eight seats of the available 17, Bandi Sanjay and G Kishan Reddy are likely to take oath.

BJP leaders from Andhra Pradesh, Daggubati Purandeshwari and Narsapuram MP Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Varma are likely to ministerial berths.

Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan's Janasena, which won two seats in Andhra Pradesh as a constituent of the NDA, is likely to get the deputy speaker's post in the Lok Sabha.

BJP MP-elect Giriraj Singh, who attended the tea meet at PM-designate Modi's residence, says "I want to thank PM Modi for showing trust in me. There was one discussion that we have to transform India into a 'Viksit Bharat'. It is not about any particular portfolio. Every department is important."

JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy says Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given him an opportunity to serve as a Minister in the new Cabinet. The former Karnataka CM said he has not placed a demand for any portfolio, but expressed his desire to be the Agriculture Minister. "Under Narendra Modi's leadership a decision has been made, after discussion with BJP national President (JP Nadda), Home Minister (Amit Shah) and Defence Minister (Rajnath Singh). They have identified me and given me an opportunity. The entire credit for this has to go to people of Kannada Naadu in my opinion," Kumaraswamy said.

Congress Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari says, "I am the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha, I haven't received any invitation for the swearing-in ceremony of PM-designate Narendra Modi nor the INDIA alliance partners...LoP will himself decide whether he will attend the swearing-in-ceremony or not...To turn the ceremony into an international event, Narendra Modi is more interested in inviting foreign guests..."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a surprise call to Malayalam superstar Mohanlal to attend the swearing-in ceremony. However, the actor has expressed his inability to attend the event in Delhi as he is busy shooting for a film. 

TDP MP-elect Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, who is set to join the Modi 3.0 Cabinet, says, "After a long time, TDP will have a Union Minister. We have no demand so far. Our relations are so strong that we will take a decision only after holding proper discussions. We are very happy. We have the undivided attention of the Central government. There will be no change in our stand on the reservation."

The Telugu Desam Party, which is in alliance with BJP, is set to get two ministerial berths in the Narendra Modi Cabinet. TDP leaders Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu and Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar will be part of the new Union Cabinet. TDP has confirmed that Ram Mohan Naidu, a three-time MP from Srikakulam constituency, will be inducted in the Modi 3.0 Cabinet. Meanwhile, former Guntur MP Galla Jayadev shared the news of Chandra Sekhar's induction. First-time MLA from Guntur, Chandra Sekhar was the richest candidate in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, who is the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, has reportedly received an invitation to attend the event. However, it is unclear wether the Congress president will attend the event. While news agency IANS confirmed his participation, ANI reports a decision is yet to be taken on Kharge's move.

Delhi Police has also banned the use of sub-conventional aerial platforms like para-gliders, para-motors, hang-gliders, UAVs, UASs, microlight aircraft, remotely piloted aircraft, hot air balloons, small-sized powered aircraft, quadcopters or even by para-jumping from aircraft on June 9 and 10. "It has been reported that certain criminal, anti-social elements or terrorists inimical to India may pose a threat to the safety of the general public, dignitaries and vital installations by the use of sub-conventional aerial platforms," reads the order issued by Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora.

Restrictions under section 144 of the CrPC have been imposed in Delhi, prohibiting assembly of four or more people at one place. Five paramilitary units have been stationed at both the inner and outer perimeters of Rashtrapati Bhavan, as well as around Kartavya Path to maintain strict security measures. The Lutyens Delhi area will be under air-to-ground surveillance and snipers have been deployed around the venue for additional security. The security arrangements are comparable to those implemented during the G20 Summit last year, news agency IANS quotes an official as saying.

- No vehicle will be allowed to halt or park on Imtiaz Khan Marg, Rakab Ganj Road, Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Marg, Pandit Pant Marg and Talkatora Road. Vehicles found parked on these roads will be towed away and penalised. Towed vehicles would be parked in the Traffic Pit at Pandit Pant Marg towards Gole Dak Khana.

- Traffic will be diverted from Patel Chowk, Roundabout Patel Chowk, Rail Bhawan, Roundabout Gurudwara Rakab Ganj, Gole Dakkhana, Roundabout RML and Roundabout GPO.

- Those going towards ISBT/Railway Stations/Airports are advised to carefully plan their travel with sufficient time at hand, the advisory added.

As the national capital prepares for the grand oath ceremony of PM Modi, security has been heightened across the city and several roads closed as a precautionary measure. According to the Delhi Police Traffic advisory, the below mentioned roads will remain closed between 2 PM and 11 PM and only pedestrian movement will be allowed.

BJP leader Narendra Modi began his day with a visit to the Rajghat in Delhi, where he paid his tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. He also paid his respects to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Sadaiv Atal. Modi, accompanied by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, then laid a wreath at the National War Memorial.
