A sharp chill has taken hold across North India, with temperatures continuing to fall throughout the plains, while parts of South India brace for rainfall. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature in the Delhi-NCR region is likely to hover around 26 degrees Celsius, the minimum around 11 degrees Celsius, accompanied by winds blowing at 10–15 km/h. The drop in temperature is expected to persist across several states of North India.
With a gradual drop in temperature, the weather department warned that fog and dry cold may pose challenges, urging people to dress warmly when stepping out in the morning or evening, and to take extra care of children and the elderly.
Weather Update: Fog In Parts Of Northern India
A light fog layer has enveloped the skies of Northern India, including Punjab, Bihar, eastern Uttar Pradesh, and Western Madhya Pradesh. Temperatures may rise slightly in parts of central India, Maharashtra, and Gujarat over the next two to three days,
Uttar Pradesh is set to face intense cold and morning fog on November 23, with minimum temperatures ranging from 11-15 degrees Celsius and an additional decline of 2-4 degrees Celsius likely between November 26 and 28.
The cold spell will persist across the state today, as dense fog and mist reduce visibility in many districts. According to the India Meteorological Department, the day will remain mostly sunny, with light fog early on and hazy conditions later.
Meanwhile, moderate fog engulfed the city of Agra on Saturday morning. The fog remained at the Taj Mahal until 8 AM. However, the fog cleared when the sun came out.
The local weather department has predicted a drop of one to two degrees Celsius in daytime temperature from Saturday onwards due to dry westerly winds. The conditions of fog or mist will likely persist in the morning.
Fog Alert In Bihar
The Patna Meteorological Center reported that minimum temperatures are expected to fall by 2-4 degrees over the next 24 hours. A light fog advisory has also been issued for Patna and nearby regions for the morning.
Rajasthan Weather Condition
Mercury levels are going down in the state of Rajasthan as well, with Ajmer recording a minimum temperature of 11.4 degrees Celsius today and a maximum temperature of 28.3 degrees Celsius. In Bhilwara, the daytime temperature was 27.6 degrees Celsius and the nighttime temperature was 10.8 degrees Celsius.
Cold wave conditions have intensified in Rajasthan’s Shekhawati region also. Pilani registered a high of 29.9 degrees Celsius and a low of 10.2 degrees Celsius, while Sikar recorded 27.5 degrees Celsius as the maximum and 8.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum, one of the lowest temperatures in the state.
Snowfall In Himachal Pradesh
In the hilly state of Himachal Pradesh, snowfall has started with the minimum temperatures in Manali expected to reach as low as 2 degrees Celsius on November 23. Tourists and locals have been urged to exercise caution before venturing out in the cold.
