Navratri 2024 Famous Temples In Delhi: Navratri Season refers to a period during which the Navratri festival is celebrated. It is one of the most prominent Hindu festivals in India, which is celebrated with much fervor and enthusiasm. It is observed for nine continuous nights and ends on 10th day on Dussehra. The festival usually falls in the Hindu lunar month of Ashvin, which corresponds to the months of September and October in the Gregorian calendar.
India is a land of vast numbers of temple having unique architect, history and cultural significance. With the onset of Navaratri season, the footfall in the temples increase, thus it becomes important to know where devotees could visit to offer their prayers during the holy season celebrated over nine days.

Jhandewalan Temple:

This temple is located in Jhandewalan area of New Delhi. It is the temple of Maa Jhandewali, who is said to be an incarnation of Goddess Durga. This temple has a great religious significance and a lot of people throng this, especially during Navratri festival. It is believed that the goddess appeared in the dream of a devotee and asked him to dig a certain spot. When he complied, he discovered an idol of goddess holding a flag. This is how the temple was named Jhandewalan.
Kalka Mata Temple:

This temple is located in Kalkaji area in south Delhi. It is dedicated to goddess Kalka or Kali. This temple is very ancient and it is believed that Lork Krishna and Pandvas worshipped goddes Kali here during the reign of Yudhisthir. Kalka Mata attracts a plethora of devotees from across the country. People usually make beeline to visit this temple during Navratri festival.
Kali Temple:
It is located in Nehru place area in south Delhi. A large number of devotees visit here, especially during holy Navratri Season. This temple is built in Bengali style and people also visit here during Durga Puja.
Katyayani Mata Temple:
It is located in Chhatarpur, a suburban area in South Delhi. It is dedicated to Goddess Durga. This complex of Katyayani Mata temple is one of the largest in Delhi. A lot of people visit this temple during Navratri. people thriong
The temple's architecture is notable for its grandeur and intricacy, featuring traditional North Indian temple architecture with beautiful carvings and designs. The main sanctum sanctorum houses the idol of Goddess Katyayani, and there are also shrines dedicated to various other Hindu deities within the temple complex.
Yogmaya Temple:
This temple is located in Mehrauli area of Delhi. This temple is dedicated to goddess Yogmaya, the sister of Lord Krishna. This temple showcases elements of the traditions of both Hindus and Muslims. It is believed to date back to the Mahabharata era, making it one of the oldest temples in Delhi.
Yogmaya Temple is particularly revered during the festival of Navratri, which is dedicated to the worship of the goddess Durga and her various forms. Devotees flock to the temple during this time to offer prayers and seek blessings.
Sheetla Temple:
This temple is located in Faridabad, a town in Haryana bordering Delhi. Sheetla Temple is dedicated to goddess Sheetla. Sheetla Mata is known as they goddess of healing and people with ailments like smallpox and chickenpox visit here. These temples are, however, located across India.
The temple typically features an idol or image of Sheetla Mata, often depicted with a broom in her hand, symbolizing cleanliness and purity. Devotees offer prayers, flowers, and sometimes food offerings to the goddess. People usually visit here during Navratri and Ashtami.
