NEET Paper Leak: The CBI has interrogated three AIIMS Patna students in connection with the alleged irregularities related to NEET-UG 2024, officials cited by news agency PTI said on Thursday. This comes just days after an NIT Jamshedpur alum was arrested by the central agency as part of the ongoing probe.

NEET-UG Row: NIT Alum Arrested

According to officials, Pankaj Kumar alias Aditya, a 2017-batch civil engineer from NIT Jamshedpur, who faces allegations of stealing the NEET-UG paper from the possession of the NTA in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh, was arrested by the CBI on Tuesday. A resident of Bokaro, Kumar was arrested from Patna, they had said.

One Raju Singh was also arrested by the central agency for having allegedly helped Kumar in stealing the paper and passing them on to their associates, the officials informed. Singh was arrested from Hazaribagh, they said further.

NEET-UG 2024: CBI Probe Overview

With the latest arrests, the total number of persons arrested for alleged involvement in instances of leakage, impersonation and other irregularities in the medical entrance exam reached 14, as per officials.

As many as six FIRs have been registered by the CBI in connection with its probe into the alleged instances of irregularities pertaining to the NEET-UG medical entrance exam held on May 5 this year.

The FIR stemming from a police complaint in Bihar is the only one registered by the CBI that pertains to an alleged instance of a paper leak in NEET-UG 2024. The remaining ones, from Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra, are regarding alleged impersonation of candidates and cheating.
