NEET PG 2024: The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Examination (NEET) PG 2024 examination, which was earlier scheduled for June 23, would now be held on August 11 in two shifts, the NBEMS announced on Friday. Earlier, the Health Ministry had axed the exam 12 hours before it began, citing precautionary measures as the reason. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), which conducts the exam, further announced that the fresh exam would be conducted in two shifts.
Dr Abhijat Sheth, NBEMS president said that holding NEET-PG in two shifts is a "standard technique," adding that in the past, the exam was held in multiple shifts. He further said that the cutoff date of eligibility to appear in the NEET-PG 2024 would remain unchanged as of August 15, 2024.
NEET-PG 2024: Here are the top updates
1. The NEET-PG exam will be held on August 11, 2024, in two shifts across 259 examination centres throughout the country.

2. Fresh admit cards for the rescheduled NEET PG exam will be released on the official website of the National Board of Examination weeks before August 11, the designated exam date. The aspirants will have to download the NEET PG 2024 admit cards from the official website of NBE, nbe.edu.in.
3. The NEET-PG 2024 examination shift timings are not available immediately as it would be released soon on the official website.
4. "This has been decided with all the stakeholders, including the government, our own team, and our own vendors. This is the best time to conduct the exams. We will ensure that all SOPs are in place," the NBEMS president said.

5. The NEET-PG exam is conducted in online mode. A total of 26,168 Doctor of Medicine (MD), 13,649 Master of Surgery (MS) and 922 PG Diploma in 6,102 government, private, deemed/central universities seats are offered through the NEET-PG exam.
6. This came while the NEET-UG exam remained entangled in paper leak controversy. While the central government opposed the re-NEET, Supreme Court is scheduled to hear pleas seeing re-exam on July 8.
