The petitioners have demanded the cancellation of the entrance exam and a retest, citing alleged irregularities reported in the conduct of the test held on May 5.
Meanwhile, a team from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday reached Patna and collected evidence related to the NEET paper leak case from Bihar Police’s Economic Offences Unit (EOU).
An EOU official, quoted by jagran.com, stated that the evidence collected so far during the investigation includes charred fragments of question papers recovered from a house in Patna, mobile phones, SIM cards, laptops, post-dated checks of the arrested individuals, and reference question papers provided by the NTA.
He also mentioned that all the arrested individuals were in judicial custody in Patna and the federal probe agency team was likely to obtain transit remand from the court to take them to Delhi for a comprehensive interrogation.
The EOU official further stated that the CBI might register several FIRs in this case for the destruction of evidence. Moreover, the government officials, who have been accused in the case, might face a disproportionate assets (DA) case.
