Naidunia Correspondent, Bhopal | The shocking hit-and-run incident involving a female biker Shivani Chauhan (Siya), in Gurugram, adjacent to Delhi, has created a huge public outrage, which resulted in the arrest of the key accused. But just a month prior, a similar incident occurred in Madhya Pradesh' capital city, Bhopal, in which a woman biker was chased and harassed by two men in a car.
The incident occurred on Nabibag Road, under the Nishatpura police station area of Bhopal, on August 2, but it has emerged on social media after the Gurugram incident as people are raising the issue of women's safety on the road.

Who Is Bhopal Biker?
The victim, 23-year-old Abida Rana, calls herself a motorcyclist and traveller on Instragram bio. She shared her ordeal, saying she was about five kilometres from her home when two men in a car started harassing her. The accused crossing the road suddenly stopped their car near the divider and started hurling abuses at her without any reason.

Accused Chased Her About 700 Meters And Blocked Her Way
According to Abida, when she resisted, the accused began chasing her vehicle. For approximately 600 to 700 meters, the miscreants repeatedly tried to block her way by bringing their car in front of her bike. They attempted to intimidate her, sometimes from the left and sometimes from the right.
Instead of panicking, Abida showed courage and warned the accused that there was a police station nearby and she would file a strong complaint against them. Despite this, the accused remained undeterred and continued to follow her.
However, as soon as they reached the station, they fled. She filed a complaint a complaint after which the police took prompt action.
The Accused Submitted Written Apology
Following the incident, the police identified the accused, summoned them to the police station, and issued a stern warning. Police also obtained a written apology from the accused. Due to Abida's decision not to file a formal criminal case at the time, the police did not take further legal action.
Abida shared a video of the horrific incident on her Instagram account on August, which has now gained traction and is rapidly going viral following the Gurugram incident. This incident has once again raised questions about women's safety on the road and the serious challenges faced by female bikers.
What Abida Said
A complaint was filed at the police station on August 2, after which both accused were summoned to the police station and made to write an apology, said Abida.
Adarshkant Shukla, DCP said accused were made to sign an apology letter at the police station. "The complainant returned home satisfied with her family. However, they were told that if they still had any problems, they could approach the police," Shukla said.
