Chennai Power Cut On September 15: In a major update for the residents of Chennai, the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) has announced that several regions will witness power outages on September 15 amid the ongoing maintenance works. The authority advised the residents to stay updated and plan their days accordingly. However, TANGEDCO assured that the supply will soon be restored soon after the necessary maintenance works.
While providing details, TANGEDCO stated that most of the regions will witness a power outage for five hours between 9 am and 2 pm. However, it further stated that supply in some of the regions could be restored before the scheduled time. The authority also stated that the repair works are being conducted to improve the electric infrastructure system in the city.
Chennai: Power Cut Announced In These Regions
The authority stated that several regions of Mudichur, including SK Avenue, Pallava Nagar, Maruti Nagar, Kalaignar Road, Siva Vishnu Nagar, Madanapuram, Gnanapandithar Nagar, Suraj Avenue, Pillaiyar Kovil Street, Vanchinathan Street, Sriram Nagar, Nehru Street, Manavalan Nagar, Senthil Nagar, Indira Gandhi Road, KVT Green City, Selliyamman Kovil Street, Old Perungalathur Main Road, and Parvathy Nagar will witness outage.
It further stated that multiple areas of Selaiyur such as Bhubaneswari Nagar, Malleswari Nagar, Andal Nagar, Jeevanthapuram, Jalva Garden, Jalva Vihar, Kumaraswamy Street, Padmavati Nagar 21st Street, and Alamelupuram will experience power cut for five hours.
Authority Issues Advisory For Residents
Apart from this, several regions of Kundrathur, including Vazhalampedu Village, Vijayaraja Nagar, Natham, Varsh Nagar, Santosh Avenue, Arunachaleswarar Nagar, Sambandam Nagar, Lakshmi Nagar, Aishwaryam Nagar, Padmavati Nagar, and MM Avenue will also witness outage till 2 pm.
"The public is requested to take the necessary precautions and cooperate with the Electricity Board employees," the authority said in its statement. Apart from this, the capital city of Tamil Nadu is also likely to witness light to moderate rain in the next two to three days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed.
