Decomposed Body Of Pakistani Terrorist With M-4 Carbine Rifle Recovered In J-K's Doda; Search For Two Militants Underway

Jagran State Bureau, Jammu | Security forces recovered the decomposed body of a Pakistani terrorist belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammed in Sayojdhar, Doda, Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. The terrorist's M-4 carbine rifle and other equipment were also recovered near the body.

Although the police have not confirmed it, it is claimed that the terrorist whose body has been recovered had escaped with two of his associates after being injured in an encounter with security forces in the same area on June 10.

Almost All Jaish Terrorists Killed In Doda

Officials said the area where the body was found connects Doda with Udhampur district. Over the past five to six years, Jaish-e-Mohammed has attempted to expand its activities in this area, attacking security forces and killing a civilian.

However, security forces have launched a campaign against terrorists and killed almost all the Jaish men active in the area. Sources said that the police, along with the Army and CRPF, have been conducting a search operation in the Sayojdhar area for the past few days. This operation is being conducted in and around Sayojdhar, areas considered extremely inaccessible or where the nomadic Gujjar-Bakarwal community has set up camps during the summer.

The nomadic Gujjar-Bakarwal community moved to the plains in the second half of August, setting up their camps. During the summer, militants often visited these camps for food, but would flee before the arrival of security forces.

Search For Two Terrorists Underway

The terrorist, whose body was found, was one of three militants who managed to escape during the encounter in the same area on June 10. Later, during a search of the encounter site, blood stains were found, which confirmed that a terrorist had been killed or injured and taken with them. Some time later, the two terrorists, at different times, got food and rations from the locals and the nomadic Gujjar-Bakarwal community.

Currently, the search for their two other associates is underway. Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat recently reviewed anti-terrorism operations in the area. Security forces are now conducting searches, drone surveillance, and sanitisation operations in the area.
