Gujarat Shocker: In a horrific incident, a married woman and her partner were allegedly forced to have sex in public and drink urine under the guise of religious purification in Gujarat's Surendranagar. Earlier on October 4, the victims were reportedly locked inside a room and were forced to go through the illegal purification process. Apart from this, the accused also recorded the video and circulated it on the social media platforms

Eight Individuals Arrested

The woman was also chained, physically abused and was gang-raped at the site, reported NDTV. The state police, after receiving a complaint from the locals, tracked the victim and arrested a total of nine individuals, including her husband and other relatives.

As per the complaint, the woman was married to the accused in Vapi but moved to Chotila to live with her partner for about three months. The family members tracked her down and brought her back to Vapi. They locked her inside a room, but she managed to escape and returned to her partner in Chotila a few days back.

Video Circulated On Social Media

However, her husband and other relatives again brought her back, but instead of locking her again, they chose to "purify" her. They locked the woman and her partner inside a room in Surendranagar and allegedly asked them to have sex in public. They also recorded the video and reportedly circulated it on the social media platforms.

While providing details, Surendranagar DSP Premsukh Delu stated that a community leader informed the police about this incident. He further stated that teams were deployed to locate the victim after finding multiple videos of the incident. "I received a call from a community leader informing me about the brutality against a woman. We also found several videos. Several police teams were deployed to locate the woman," Delu said.

Probe Underway

He further stated that while she was afraid in the beginning, the victim later narrated the whole incident, which allegedly happened on October 4. "She started crying when she saw the police. We matched her face with the woman in the video and brought her to the police station. After counseling, she narrated her ordeal," he added.

The police later assured that a detailed probe has been launched, adding that the accused are being interrogated for further details.
