LPG New Rules From Nov 1: LPG consumers in India could see changes in cooking gas prices from November 1, 2026. Oil marketing companies are set to review commercial LPG rates, while domestic cylinder prices and piped natural gas tariffs will also be closely watched. Existing Aadhaar e-KYC norms and cylinder booking rules will remain in place. These changes can also affect your kitchen budget.
Here are five key updates consumers should know.
LPG New Rules From November 1
Commercial LPG Cylinder Price Revision
Commercial LPG prices are revised on the first of every month. With international crude oil prices nearing $117 per barrel amid tensions in Israel and Iran and concerns over possible disruptions to shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, another revision is possible on November 1. The final rates will depend on the announcement by the oil companies.

Domestic LPG Cylinder Prices
Domestic LPG prices have remained unchanged since June 7, 2026. Unlike commercial cylinders, domestic rates do not automatically change with every movement in global oil prices. Consumers will have to wait for the next official announcement to know whether the price of a 14.2-kg cylinder will be revised in November.

PNG Prices From November 1
Piped natural gas prices depend on domestic gas supplies, imported LNG costs, distribution expenses and taxes. City gas distributors have reportedly revised PNG rates twice since the West Asia conflict began in late February. Any further changes will depend on individual distributors.
LPG E-KYC Requirements
Biometric Aadhaar authentication is mandatory for LPG consumers, especially those under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Eligible beneficiaries can get subsidies of around Rs 200-300 per refill, subject to scheme conditions. Those who have not completed e-KYC should contact their LPG distributor to avoid any issues with subsidy benefits.

LPG Cylinder Booking Gap
The minimum gap between domestic LPG refill bookings is now 25 days for both rural and urban consumers. Earlier, rural consumers had to wait 45 days, while the previous booking interval was 21 days. Consumers should plan their refills accordingly.
Will the Changes Affect Your Kitchen Budget?
While changes in rates of commercial cylinders depend entirely on upcoming OMC notification, domestic LPG prices did not change recently. In Delhi, the retail price for domestic LPG cylinders remained at Rs 942. It would be better if consumers check city-wise pricing before booking their refills from November.
