- Noida Authority issues notices for unsafe building evacuation.
- Owners warned of full liability for any future accidents.
- Strict action follows recent deadly Delhi building collapse.
Following a building collapse in Delhi's Satya Niketan that killed 7 people, the Noida Authority has launched a strict campaign against dilapidated and unsafe houses in the city.
The authority has started pasting notices on buildings which are found to be in a dangerous condition during the survey. The notices ask the building owners and residents to vacate within one to two weeks.
The authority has warned the owners of the dilapidated buildings that in case of any accident, they would be held responsible. A similar survey of buildings was also held in the city in 2019 when about 1,757 structures were marked unsafe
However, no effective action was taken. Due to the latest Delhi incident, the authority has vowed strict action this time. The notices have been issued in villages and 128 EWS flats in Sector 31.
What did the authority say?
Noida Authority Additional Chief Executive Officer Vandana Tripathi said that the buildings on which notices have been pasted will be vacated.

As part of the procedure, a copy of the notice is being sent to the police department to ensure compliance if necessary.
The Noida Authority is divided into 10 work circles, covering 81 villages. Each circle officer has been tasked with identifying dilapidated buildings in their area and taking action.
Where did Noida Authority issued notices?
Surveys are underway in densely populated villages like Sadarpur, Nithari, Mamura, Salarpur, and Bhangel. So far, notices have been posted on nine buildings in Mamura village, which are currently inhabited.
Since the PG accommodation collapse in Delhi on September 6, the MCD has demolished at least 58 illegal or unsafe buildings. More than 24 properties with construction violations have been sealed, while 57 show-cause notices have been issued in a massive crackdown.
