Punjab: Two Pakistani infiltrators were shot dead by the Border Security Force (BSF) officials near the international border in Punjab's Tarn Taran district in the early hours of Friday. The infiltrators were trying to enter the Indian territory illegally and refused to return despite being warned multiple times. However, the exact detail about the material recovered from them has not been disclosed by the senior officials.

Soldiers Noticed Illegal Movement 

The incident occurred in the Rajoke region where the soldiers noticed illegal movement near the border region, reported Jagran. The security officials tracked around three infiltrators trying to cross the border in the night hours. While the authority tracked the suspects' movements using thermal imaging and binoculars, the infiltrators managed to cross the border and enter the Indian territory.

Infiltrators Ignored The Warnings

The officials, upon confirming their location, warned the infiltrators to return. However, instead of following the orders, the infiltrators attempted to hide in the dark. The security officials opened fire after the alleged smugglers refused to return and offered a challenge by hiding.

The BSF soldiers successfully eliminated two intruders near the border in their operation. While it is being suspected that they were drug smugglers and tried to enter the Indian territory with the intention of delivering a consignment. However, the exact amount and material recovered from the infiltrators has not yet been confirmed yet.

As per the reports, the entire area was sealed off and a search operation was launched in the nearby regions soon after the incident. The BSF officials are soon likely to share further details in a press conference.
