- Northern Railways to resume normal Delhi train services Sunday.

A day after the Northern Railways halted all train services to and from Delhi in the wake of the Cockroach Janta Party protests, the services are set to resume on the normal schedule from Sunday. On September 10, the Railways had cancelled mail and express trains scheduled to arrive at Hazrat Nizamuddin and New Delhi railway stations between 4 AM and 2 PM.
The railways had put the restrictions on trains that originated after 2 PM on October 9 and were scheduled to arrive at either station during the said time period.
Renewed protest call
On Saturday, over 3000 people, including four former CMs Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal, Pinarayi Vijayan and Manik Sarkar, were detained along with CJP's Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, YouTuber Dhruv Rathee and others.
All of them were released except the CJP trio, who were put under preventive arrest and presented before an Executive Magistrate. Meanwhile, CJP's Ajinkya Shinde has called for a second-day protest, urging people to join a march to Jantar Mantar at 10 AM.
As a result, security remains heightened across Delhi, especially near Jantar Mantar and Connaught Place.
Metro gates open
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Saturday evening said that all entry and exit gates at all metro stations would remain open as the services resume to normal on Sunday. On Saturday, the entry and exit at 45 stations.
All protesters released
CJP leaders Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, who were detained on Saturday and put under preventive arrest, were released by the executive magistrate on Sunday, CJP legal team leader Ratna Singh said. The three leaders were detained from inside the aircraft after they landed in Delhi.
YouTuber Dhruv Rathee, who was detained from his Gurugram home, was also released late last night, with a warning to refrain from heading to the Delhi protests.
