A journey home from Andhra Pradesh to Assam turned tragic for a 20-year-old woman after she went missing from the train and was later found dead in a forested area in Andhra Pradesh.
The woman, identified as Himashri Boro, was travelling on the Dibrugarh Vivek Express (Train No. 22503) from Visakhapatnam to Guwahati. She had boarded the train at Visakhapatnam at 11:50 pm on October 5, with the train leaving the station at 12:10 am. It was scheduled to reach Guwahati at 9:05 am on October 7.

Boro, a tribal woman from Chapaidang under the Bonda Post Office in Assam's Kamrup district, was a student of B Borooah College in Guwahati. According to her family, she had travelled to Andhra Pradesh for a dance performance and was returning home.

Bora, at 2.39 am, contacted her friend and reportedly told her that some boys were bullying and misbehaving with her before the call abruptly disconnected and her phone became unreachable. “I’m scared, pray for me,” Bora’s friend recalled her last message.
After losing contact with her, Bora's mother lodged a complaint with the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Guwahati. A complaint was also registered through the Railways helpline 139.

The railway police began searching for her along the train's route after her bag was found in the S2 coach of the Vivek Express.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) later found Boro's body in a forested area near Malayapuram in Andhra Pradesh, NDTV quoted an RPF source. Railway police sources said the cause of death is yet to be ascertained.
The circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death are being investigated.
