SIR Draft Voter List: What To Do If Your Name Is Missing? Know Form-6 Rules, Documents Required

SIR Draft Voter List: Is your name missing from the draft voter list after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)? Don’t panic just yet. If you are an eligible Indian citizen, you still have an opportunity to get your name included in the electoral roll.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has laid down a process for eligible voters whose names have been left out of the draft electoral roll. This includes submitting Form-6, along with the prescribed declaration and the required supporting documents.

Here’s how you can check whether your name is included in the SIR draft electoral roll and what you need to do if it is missing.

SIR Voter List: How to Check Your Name

Step 1: Visit the official website of the Chief Electoral Officer ( Your State )

Step 2: You will see a webpage with three options:

- SIR Draft Electoral Roll 2026 PDF

- Search Your Name in SIR Draft Electoral Roll 2026

- ASDD List/Minutes of Meeting (MOM)

Step 3: Click on "Search Your Name in SIR Draft Electoral Roll 2026".

Step 4: The link will take you to electoralsearch.eci.gov.in

Step 5: Enter your EPIC number, select the state, enter the captcha, and press search.

Step 6: You will see your name if it is there in the draft electoral list.

You can also use the Voter Helpline App or the official website of your state's CEO (Chief Electoral Officer).

If your name does not appear through the online medium, contact the BLO (Booth Level Officer), AERO (Assistant Electoral Registration Officer), or ERO (Electoral Registration Officer) of your respective polling station and have the list checked.

You can also check your electoral details through the Voter Helpline App or the official website of the Chief Electoral Officer of your state.

If your name does not appear online, you can contact the BLO (Booth Level Officer), AERO (Assistant Electoral Registration Officer) or ERO (Electoral Registration Officer) concerned and request them to verify the electoral roll.

What to Do If Your Name Is Missing?

If your name is not included in the draft electoral roll, you will need to apply for inclusion by submitting Form-6.

Under the SIR process, applicants are also required to submit the prescribed declaration along with Form-6.

The application can be submitted online through the designated portal or app or offline through the BLO.

After receiving the application, the ERO will examine and verify the documents submitted by the applicant. If necessary, the electoral authorities may seek additional information or clarification before taking a decision on the application.

Know Document Verification Rules Under SIR

The document requirements vary depending on the applicant’s date of birth. The ECI has prescribed different requirements for applicants born in different periods, including documents relating to their parents.

1. Born before July 1, 1987

Applicants born before July 1, 1987, are required to submit a valid document relating to themselves.

2. Born between July 1, 1987, and December 2, 2004

Applicants born between July 1, 1987, and December 2, 2004, are required to submit:

-> A valid document relating to themselves; and

-> A valid document relating to either their mother or father.

3. Born after December 2, 2004

Applicants born after December 2, 2004, are required to submit their own documents as well as valid documents relating to both their mother and father.

Which Documents Can Be Submitted?

The documents prescribed by the ECI include documents that establish identity, date of birth and other relevant details. These include:

- Birth certificate or passport

- Matriculation (Class 10) marksheet or educational certificate

- Domicile certificate or caste certificate

- Government-issued identity card or pension order

- Certified copy of the family register

It is important to note that the Aadhaar card is accepted as proof of identity and address, as per the ECI's rules. However, the Commission has clarified that Aadhaar is a means of identification and does not, by itself, serve as proof of Indian citizenship.
