Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that 21 states across the country are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall today. As per the weather department, thunderstorms with wind speeds reaching 70 to 80 kmph are likely over Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, and Chhattisgarh. The residents have been advised to follow the guidelines and plan their days accordingly to avoid inconveniences.

Rain Likely In Multiple States

The weather department, while providing details, stated that heavy rain is expected in multiple states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, Assam, and Andhra Pradesh. It further stated that strong winds of up to 85 kilometers per hour are possible during this period.

Will It Rain In Delhi-NCR Today?

Delhi and its nearby cities, including Noida and Gurugram, are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall today. The rainfall is likely to cause waterlogging in the lower regions, leading to inconveniences to the commuters and local residents. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 33 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature will remain around 24 degrees Celsius.

IMD Issues Alert For UP

A yellow alert for rain and thunderstorms has been issued for several regions of Uttar Pradesh, including Meerut, Ghaziabad, Muzaffarnagar, Moradabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Saharanpur, Hapur, Kheri, Aligarh, Mathura, Agra, Mahamaya Nagar, Etawah, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Rae Bareli, Hardoi, Unnao, Etawah, Hamirpur, Amethi, Sultanpur, Azamgarh, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Deoria, Mainpuri, and Gorakhpur.

Bihar Weather Update

The IMD has issued a heavy rain and thunderstorm alert for multiple districts of Bihar, such as West Champaran, Siwan, Saran, Gopalganj, East Champaran, Gaya, Jehanabad, Bhojpur, Patna, Buxar, Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Supaul, Saharsa, Purnia, Araria, Kishanganj, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Munger, Lakhisarai, Khagaria, and Begusarai.

Apart from this, the IMD has also stated that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Jharkhand.
