NIA Raids In Srinagar: Probe Agency Searches Multiple Locations Linked To Pakistan-Backed Terror Groups

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday is carrying out extensive raids at nine locations in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, targeting terror outfits with alleged ties to Pakistan. The operation aims to disrupt terror conspiracies orchestrated by groups such as Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al-Badr, and Al-Qaeda.

Newly formed organisations including The Resistance Front (TRF), United Liberation Front Jammu & Kashmir (ULFJ&K), Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), and others were also under scrutiny in the operation. Security forces provided assistance while NIA personnel conducted the raids.

The case (RC-05/2022/NIA/JMU) was registered by NIA in June 2022 to investigate the involvement of cadres, overground workers (OGWs), and suspects from these outfits in activities such as the distribution of sticky bombs, IEDs, funds, narcotics, and arms to incite terror and violence in Jammu and Kashmir.

NIA's investigation revealed that Pakistan-based operatives utilised social media platforms to propagate terror activities and employed drones to deliver arms, explosives, and narcotics to their associates in the Kashmir Valley.
