On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Noida city traffic police have decided not to issue any traffic challans to women. This initiative follows a traffic safety awareness campaign conducted by the police at various intersections across the city. As part of the campaign, free helmets were also distributed to women.

In a statement released by the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police, it was said, "Today, on 19.08.2024, under the direction of Police Commissioner Gautam Buddha Nagar, Lakshmi Singh, and under the supervision of DCP Traffic Yamuna Prasad, on the occasion of the festival of Raksha Bandhan, the traffic police distributed helmets to all the sisters riding two-wheelers, giving them the gift of life-saving protection."

The traffic police emphasized in the statement that wearing helmets is imperative. "The traffic police explained to all the sisters that they must wear helmets to protect their lives from road accidents and also ensure that their brothers and family members do not ride two-wheelers without helmets, so their lives remain safe."

The statement added, "No Challan Day is being celebrated by the traffic police officers and employees by giving gifts to all the sisters on the festival of Raksha Bandhan. Under this initiative, challans are not being issued to vehicles in which women are traveling, and they are being informed about traffic rules. By creating awareness, people are being motivated to follow the rules. The traffic system is being operated smoothly by the traffic policemen who are present at all the main intersections."
