In today’s fast-paced world, achieving work-life balance requires conscious effort, as employees juggle demanding workloads while trying to protect their mental health, family time, and personal well-being. To better understand the key differences across nations, an Indian CEO discussed the topic with his new Chinese distribution partner and shared his thoughts.
Sharing about the conversation on the social media platformX, the Energy AI labs founder and CEO, Shubham Mishra, said, "Had a word with a Chinese entrepreneur today; he’s soon becoming our official channel partner there. Yes, a distribution partner for an Indian product in China.”

The CEO, before wrapping up the call, asked his partner a simple question: “What’s the biggest difference between Indian and Chinese entrepreneurs?” Responding to the question, the entrepreneur said, “We don’t believe in work-life balance and its online debates. There are only two things: work time or personal time.”
“It hit me. Simple, raw, and brutally practical. While we’re often busy romanticising balance, they’re busy executing with clarity,” said the Energy AI founder.
Netizens reacted sharply to Mishra’s post, with many praising the Chinese entrepreneur’s clarity and discipline, while others argued that ignoring work-life balance can lead to burnout and long-term health issues. One user said, “Sometimes balance isn’t dividing time; it’s deciding what deserves your full attention in each moment.”
Another said, “That is a refreshing take on work and life.”
