Praveen Toppo, an assistant teacher (LB) at Primary School Machandand Kogwar in the Wadrafnagar block of Balrampur district, Chhattisgarh, has been suspended. Toppo is accused of not knowing the correct English spellings for "Nose," "Ear," and "Eye."

Furthermore, he reportedly did not know the spellings for the days of the week or for "Father," "Mother," "Brother," and "Sister," and was teaching incorrect spellings to the children in class. He had also written them incorrectly on the blackboard. Someone made a video of this, and as soon as the video circulated, the education department launched an investigation. The allegations were found to be true upon investigation, leading to the teacher's suspension.

A video of Praveen Toppo, a teacher at Primary School Machandand Kogwar in Balrampur district, teaching children went viral on social media. In this video, the teacher was teaching the children incorrect spellings. He also did not know the correct spellings of those words. In the video, the teacher was seen teaching 'Noge' instead of 'Nose', 'Eare' instead of 'Ear', and 'Iey' instead of 'Eye'.

Investigation Launched After Video Went Viral

The spellings for days of the week, names of body parts, and the English words for mother, father, brother, and sister were also written incorrectly on the blackboard. When this video surfaced, the education department began to face severe criticism.

Amidst questions being raised about the teacher's qualifications and knowledge, District Education Officer (DEO) MR Yadav ordered an investigation into the allegations. The cluster coordinator was sent to the school.

The investigation confirmed that the children were being taught incorrect spellings. Based on this, the District Education Officer suspended assistant teacher Praveen Toppo with immediate effect. This school has a total of 42 students and two teachers were posted there. One of them has now been suspended.

Parents stated that if children learn incorrect spellings, their future will be in darkness. They have requested that another teacher be brought to Kogwar Primary School so the children can receive a proper education.
