: Noida Airport Opening Date: The Noida International Airport, which was expected to come into service soon, has hit another roadblock and is now rescheduled for opening later this year. The Jewar airport will reportedly begin services in mid-December, with airlines like Indigo, Air India, and Akasa being the first ones to start their flight to and from the terminal.

According to a report by News18, the inauguration work is most likely to take place in early November, said officials. The inauguration of the airport was likely to take place on October 30, which is likely to be rescheduled, the report added.

Noida International Airport Ltd (NIAL) nodal officer, Shailendra Bhatia, announced that Air India Express, IndiGo, and Akasa Air will launch flights from the airport. The airlines are yet to announce their route and schedules.

Noida International Airport, developed by Yamuna International Airport Pvt Ltd (YIAPL), is nearing a major milestone - acquiring its aerodrome license from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The airport recently received clearance from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) for its airside infrastructure. In its first phase, the airport will feature a single runway and a terminal designed to handle 12 million passengers annually.

Jewar Airport To Become Cargo Hub

Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu announced that Noida International Airport will initially connect 10 cities, serving as a strategic cargo hub alongside its civil aviation operations. Located on 1,334 hectares, the airport will be Delhi NCR's second major commercial airport, complementing Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport.

In its first phase, the airport will feature a single terminal building and a 3,900-meter runway, with plans to expand its annual capacity to 70 million passengers across four phases.
