Noida Mamura Building Fire: At least two people lost their lives while over 50 were rescued after a massive blaze engulfed a multi-storey building in Noida's Mamura village. According to officials, the fire appears to have been sparked by an electric two-wheeler being charged inside the building. The police have arrested the landlord of the building and filed an FIR against him under relevant provisions of law.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also took cognisance of the fire and directed authorities to expedite relief and rescue operations. He has also instructed the administration to maintain vigilance at all levels and continuously monitor relief operations.

The fire has now been doused, and around 50 tenants residing in the building were evacuated safely. The deceased have been identified as a 26-year-old woman, Sneha, and an unidentified man.
According to Joint Commissioner of Police Rajiv Mishra, the ground-plus-four building had around 10 to 12 rooms on each floor that were being used as residential flats. "Two persons, who already had health-related issues, fell ill after inhaling smoke and were shifted to the district hospital by ambulance," Mishra said.

Residents Rescued Using Ladders
The eyewitnesses stated that the incident caused panic among the locals, adding that over 50 people were rescued by placing a ladder in a building situated in front of the ill-fated building.

According to a report by Jagran.com, locals are accusing the police of concealing evidence and alleging that the officials present at the site have shut the main gate of the building.
Tensions also flared outside the building following allegations that a police officer slapped the brother of the deceased woman, who was reportedly pleading with officers to retrieve his sister's personal belongings from her room. The incident triggered immediate outrage among bystanders at the main gate, leading to a heated uproar.
