Noida Techie Death: Amid a huge uproar over death of a 27-year-old man in Noida due to drowning in the water-filled pit of a construction site, a truck driver has claimed that he escaped a crash at the same spot few days back. Gurvinder Singh, the truck driver, has stated that his truck met with an accident on January 2 at the same location where the road takes a sharp 90-degree turn. He further stated that the visibility was low due to fog and there was no signage or barricading at the site to warn the commuters. The death of Yuvraj Mehta, the Noida techie, has raised several questions as the locals claimed that they had approached the authorities to fix the site.
While recalling the incident, Singh stated that a part of his truck got stuck into the water body. He further stated that he slipped and fell as he stepped down. "There was no signage, no reflective tape, no barricading to indicate a sharp turn. My speed was slow, but the truck's cabin rolled into a pond-like water body, while the rear wheels got stuck near a drain between the road and the pit," the truck driver was quoted as saying by PTI.
"When I stepped down to see what had happened, there was no ground. I slipped and fell. Some passersby noticed and rescued me. If they hadn't come, it could have been fatal," he added. The truck driver also claimed that the authority asked money from him, further stating that his life was in danger due to the their negligence. He further demanded murder charges against the developers.

"This is not an accident; it is negligence that amounts to killing. A case under 302 should be registered against the developer," Singh asserted.
