Weather Today: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather in northern India has changed due to the influence of an intense Western Disturbance. Heavy snowfall has begun in the Himalayan regions and rain and thunderstorms in the plains. People in Kashmir, Himachal, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh have been advised to remain vigilant today and for the next two to three days.
Heavy Snowfall In Jammu And Kashmir, Himachal
-Heavy snowfall likely in Kashmir Valley with widespread rain/snowfall over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh on January 22 and 23.
-An alert has been issued for heavy snowfall in the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh on January 23. Thunderstorms and lightning are expected in many areas, accompanied by strong winds of 30-50 km/h.
Rain, Thundershowers Affect Delhi-NCR And UP
-Delhi experienced a hazy morning on Thursday, but light to moderate rain is expected by evening. A yellow alert has been issued for thunderstorms and winds of 30-40 km/h.

-Minimum temperatures will be around 6-8 degrees Celsius, with maximums around 24-26 degrees Celsius. A cool breeze is expected after the rain.
-Light to moderate rain in western Uttar Pradesh (January 22-24) and eastern Uttar Pradesh (January 23-24). Thunderstorms and strong winds (30-50 km/h) are expected in several districts.
Other Affected States
-Light to moderate rain and thundershowers over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh on January 22-23.

-Light rain is also possible in some parts of Rajasthan.
-Due to increasing cold in hilly areas, the minimum temperature may go around zero or below.
