Noida Weather Update: A dust storm, followed by rain and gusty winds struck parts of Noida on Tuesday evening after days of scorching heat. The monsoon is quite active in the country, with heavy rains prevailing in various regions. Notably, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for light to moderate rainfall in Delhi-NCR for the next three days.
The maximum temperature can reach up to 38 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature can be around 29 degrees Celsius. There might be light to moderate rainfall on July 31 as well, with the possibility of heavy rain in some areas. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert from July 30 to August 1. From August 2 to 4, the sky will remain cloudy with the possibility of light rain.
According to the IMD, July is now moving towards normal rainfall. Although rainfall has decreased over the past two days, moderate rainfall between July 22 and 26 has significantly reduced this deficit. In Uttar Pradesh's capital, Lucknow, the nighttime temperature has risen considerably, reaching up to 30 degrees Celsius.
From July 30 to August 2, heavy rainfall is forecasted at different locations in Konkan and Goa, central Maharashtra, Gujarat, and western Madhya Pradesh. Also, from today until August 2, there is a chance of heavy rainfall in eastern Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, and on August 1 and 2, in Vidarbha.
Kerala Weather
IMD issued a red alert for Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts on Tuesday as incessant rain continues to batter Kerala. The IMD forecasted heavy rain across Kerala on Tuesday, with particularly severe weather conditions expected from Central Kerala to North Kerala.
A red alert has been issued for the aforementioned northern districts, while an orange alert covers Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur and Palakkad. Additionally, a yellow alert is in place for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kottayam districts with wind gusts reaching up to 50 kmph.
Heavy rain caused significant waterlogging and multiple landslides. Wayanad and the Vilangad area of Kozhikode experienced landslides, with the Thamarassery Pass and the Valancherry-Kuttippuram road severely impacted, blocking traffic. Landslides have also disrupted traffic on the Kannur-Iritty Koottupuzha road and near Nelliyampathy.
