Odisha Weather: After days of extreme heat, blazing sun, and humid conditions, Odisha is expected to see a substantial change in weather starting Thursday. According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, the daytime temperature is expected to decrease by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius beginning today, providing much-needed reprieve from the hot weather.
The forecast comes as rain is expected to return to numerous locations. According to the MeT office, significant rainfall is expected in numerous sections of the state beginning June 14 due to the monsoon.
Meanwhile, the meteorological service has issued a thunderstorm warning for the next three days in many areas. Isolated areas of the state may see severe winds and heavy rainfall.
Districts such as Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri have been placed on notice owing to the risk of lightning and severe winds.
Authorities have advised people in these places to exercise caution and avoid open spaces during thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, with the arrival of the monsoon, both farmers and urban inhabitants are likely to be relieved of the protracted dry season and growing discomfort index.
