Operation Mahadev: The Indian Army on Monday achieved a major success by neutralising three terrorists under Operation Mahadev. One among them, Sulieman alias Asif alias Hashim Musa, was the mastermind behind the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, where 26 civilians were killed based on their religious identity.

The other terrorists killed in the Army action have been identified as Jibran and Hamza Afghani. Jibran was allegedly involved in the Sonamarg Tunnel attack last year, marking two breakthroughs in a single operation.

Musa, who served as a commando in the Pakistan Army, was a highly trained terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba. The security forces were looking for the terrorists for a long time. As soon as they activated the T82 Ultraset communication device, which was also used for communication during the Pahalgam attack, the security forces zeroed in on the location and meticulously planned Operation Mahadev.

Here's the timeline of the operation

-8 AM: As per a report by NDTV, security forces deployed drones to trace the terrorists and get a proper analysis of the area.

-9:30 AM: The Indian Army's counter-terrorism force, the Rashtriya Rifles (RR), launched the drone.

-10:00 AM: Para Special Force commandos, along with RR soldiers, climbed the Mahadev hill.

-10:30 AM: The Para Commandos identified the terrorists.

-11:00 AM: Contact established, gunfire exchanged, and terrorists killed.

-11:45 AM: One injured terrorist tried to escape, but he was also killed by the security forces.

-12:30 PM: A clean-up operation was launched within a two-kilometre radius of the encounter site.

-12:45 PM: The bodies of the terrorists were identified, and photographs were taken. 

The forces recovered one M4 carbine rifle, two AK rifles, and other munitions from the encounter site. The bodies of the slain terrorists were handed over to the police for further process.
