Indian defence forces have launched a fervent attack in Pakistan in retaliation for the latter's missile attacks in Indian cities near the border. As per reports, the Indian Navy’s INS Vikrant has carried out a massive attack on Karachi port, causing significant damage to the setup in the area.
Besides, India has launched missile and drone attacks in nine major cities of Pakistan, including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Sialkot and Bahawalpur.
As per the reports, key strategic decisions were made in a meeting between the chiefs of the tri-services to chart the future course of action against Pakistan.
Earlier, Pakistani-origin drones and missiles targeted military stations at Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur along the international border in JK. The Indian air defence intercepted several missiles and also shot down an F-16 and two JF-17 jets belonging to Pakistan.
"Military stations at Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur were targeted by Pakistani-origin drones and missiles along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir today," the Ministry of Defence posted on X.
An alert has been sounded across major cities in northern and western parts of the country in the wake of a war-like situation between India and Pakistan.
Cities close to the border are in complete blackout. Advisories have been issued, urging people to stay indoors. Schools have been closed in Rajasthan, Punjab and JK as a precautionary measure. Besides, leaves of police personnel have been cancelled in several states of India.

The conflict between India and Pakistan was fuelled after Islamabad-backed terror outfits killed 26 people, mostly tourists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam.
