US-Israel-Iran War: Amid the ongoing West Asia conflict, the Indian Navy has introduced Operation Urja Suraksha to safeguard the nation's urgent energy requirements. The mission involves the deployment of more than five frontline warships near the significant maritime chokepoint of the Strait of Hormuz.

Reports say that the high-level operation is carried out under cautious and comparatively less publicity of the safe evacuation and transit of India-flagged cargo ships. The core objective of the operation is to protect India's energy security, with 22 India-bound vessels currently identified for evacuation, carrying supplies of LNG, LPG, and crude oil.

The operation has already yielded significant successes, with the Indian LPG carriers Pine Gas and Jag Vasant successfully navigating the Strait of Hormuz under naval escort.

According to a security firm based in the Gulf, "It is predicted that Tehran is allowing select vessels to transit Hormuz after verification, which is conducted during the ship's transit inside Iran's water bodies," the Times of India reported.

The Indian Navy remains in constant touch with the India-bound cargo vessels planning to exit the Persian Gulf. As soon as a cargo vessel moves out of the chokepoint with Iran's green signal, the Indian Navy destroyers and frigates take over. Following this step, the Indian Navy escorts them from the danger zone by a high-level security arrangement.

As per media reports, US intelligence agencies have claimed that Iran has deployed underwater mines in and around the Strait. The mines have the ability to cause severe damage to the navigating vessels too. The Indian Navy is assisting the crew, mostly Indians, creating a safe navigation path towards the Arabian Sea.
