AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has openly criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the recent stance of BR Naidu, the newly appointed chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). Owaisi's comments follow Naidu's October 31 statement advocating for an exclusively Hindu staff at the Tirumala temple, which is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara. Owaisi questioned the implications of this policy, suggesting that it reflects broader religious biases in governance under Modi's leadership.

AOwaisi criticised the proposed Waqf bill, which mandates at least two non-Muslim members on the Central Waqf Council. He pointed out that the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board, a Hindu religious body, has only Hindu members and requires its workers to be Hindu. Owaisi argued for parity, questioning why non-Muslims should be required on the Waqf Board, which serves the Muslim community when the same is not required of Hindu boards like TTD.

“We just have an objection to the fact that Narendra Modi's government is saying in the proposed bill of Waqf that in the central Waqf Council, it has been made mandatory that 2 non-Muslims members should be there...Why are you bringing this provision in the Waqf bill?” said Owaisi.

Owaisi Blasts Modi Government For Failing To Prevent Budgam Terror Attack

Responding to JKNC chief Farooq Abdullah’s remarks on the recent Budgam terror attack, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi also criticised the Modi government and the BJP for failing to prevent such incidents.

He argued that law and order in Jammu and Kashmir fall under the responsibility of the Lieutenant Governor, and if terror attacks persist, the BJP must be held accountable. Owaisi emphasised that terrorists are entering from Pakistan and questioned why the Modi administration is not effectively stopping or apprehending them, calling it a government failure.
