India-Pakistan Ceasefire Agreement Violations: Just hours after India and Pakistan announced a ceasefire agreement, the situation on the ground took a troubling turn with drone sightings, explosions, and blackouts were reported in multiple regions, including Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Gujarat, and Rajasthan.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri blamed Pakistan for violating the ceasefire, stating, “The Armed Forces are maintaining a strong vigil on the situation and have been given instructions to deal strongly with any instances of repetition of the violations of the borders along the international border as well as the Line of Control.”

Security forces reportedly carry out a search operation in Nagrota, Jammu and Kashmir, after a firing incident at an Army unit. As per news agency ANI, which reports citing Army sources, some suspicious movement was detected. But there has been no further contact after initial engagement and further investigations are on in the incident. More details are awaited.

A series of blasts took place in Srinagar city as the Indian air defence shot down a drone seen over Batwara area of the city, close to an army installation, PTI reports citing officials.

Government sources cited by PTI stated that Pakistan had breached the ceasefire understanding reached earlier that day. However, defence sources later told DD News there had been no firing along the Line of Control (LoC), contradicting some earlier claims.

Amid the unrest, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif publicly thanked the United States for helping mediate the ceasefire. In a social media post, he said, “We thank President Trump for his leadership and proactive role for peace in the region. Pakistan appreciates the United States for facilitating this outcome, which we have accepted in the interest of regional peace and stability.”
