Pakistan's ISI Smuggling Fake Notes Into India, BSF Recovers Rs 2.5 Lakh Counterfeit Currency

Fake currency worth Rs 2.5 lakh allegedly sent by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) has triggered alarm among Indian security agencies. Reports suggest this is the first instance of counterfeit notes being smuggled into India by Pakistan since the November 2018 demonetisation. Until now, heroin and weapons were being smuggled in by the ISI.

On Thursday night, the BSF recovered counterfeit currency worth Rs 2.5 lakh from an area adjacent to the Amritsar’s Gharinda region. The introduction of counterfeit currency into Indian territory is considered extremely dangerous. According to a report by jagran.com, an intelligence official revealed that the ISI is preparing to print counterfeit Indian currency on a large scale in Pakistan's border areas to harm the Indian economy.

The security agency has also sent a report to the Union Home Ministry regarding this. ISI has been continuously dropping large consignments of IEDs, RDX, grenades, rocket propellant grenades (RPGs), pistols, cartridges, and heroin into Indian territory.

Earlier, jagran.com revealed that terrorist organisations Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba are recruiting students to build a new generation of terrorists. Posters and advertisements have appeared in major Pakistani cities and PoK regions, encouraging parents to enroll children aged 7 to 13 in schools run by the groups, offering education, free meals, and a monthly allowance.

Apart from this, these organisations are offering war training grounded in Islamic principles. Members of these terrorist organisations are visiting government and private schools in PoK to deliver speeches. Terrorist-themed costume competitions and plays are being staged glorifying slain terrorists in Kashmir and propagating fabricated stories of Muslim oppression.

Sources cited by jagran.com revealed that terrorist organisations began a conspiracy to cultivate a terrorist mindset in schools in September last year and Jaish-e-Mohammed is more active in this effort than other terrorist organisations. Lashkar-e-Taiba's activities are limited to schools run by its affiliates. Jaish-e-Mohammed is also expanding its influence in government, non-government, and other schools.
