The Border Security Force (BSF) on the night of May 8, 2025, thwarted a significant infiltration attempt by Pakistani terrorists at the International Boundary in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. The attempt, which took place around 11 PM, was swiftly detected and neutralised by BSF personnel. The alert personnel on duty detected suspicious movement near the border and immediately took action, preventing the terrorists from infiltrating into Indian territory. Operational details such as the exact number of infiltrators remain undisclosed.
The successful thwarting of this attack came just after a period of heightened tensions, which has seen several military operations and skirmishes along the Indo-Pakistani border. Indian military stations in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur were targeted by Pakistan using drones and missiles. The Indian Armed Forces, however, swiftly neutralised the threats using both kinetic and non-kinetic means as per established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). There were no casualties, and the military installations did not suffer any significant material losses.
