India carried out Operation Sindoor, hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. India targeted the terror infrastructure from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed, the Indian Army said. Altogether, nine sites have been targeted, it said. The attack came in response to the recent terrorist attack on tourists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam that killed 26 people.
The government, at an official briefing, said the targets were struck between 1.05 am and 1.30 am, with precision missiles and drones hitting facilities in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, including the Jaish-e-Mohammad stronghold of Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba's base in Muridke.
Here's how Mulsim countries reacted to Operation Sindoor:
Qatar
Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani called External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and expressed Qatar’s deep concern" over the evolving situation between the two nuclear-armed countries. However, when Al-Thani had called Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif before speaking to Jaishankar, he asserted Qatar's full support for all regional and global efforts aimed at resolving unsettled problems between the two nations via discussion and peaceful norms.
Turkey
Turkey urged India and Pakistan to act with common sense amid the military escalation between them, its foreign ministry said on Wednesday, saying India's latest military action created the risk of an "all-out war". In a statement, the ministry reiterated its support for Pakistan's call for an investigation into the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
Later in the day, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan spoke with Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to convey his solidarity, the Turkish presidency said. During the call, Erdogan told Sharif that Turkey supported what he called Pakistan's "calm and restrained policies" in the crisis, his office said in a statement. Erdogan also said he found "appropriate" Islamabad's call for an investigation into an Islamist militant attack that triggered the crisis.

Iran
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei voiced serious concern over the intensifying conflict between India and Pakistan, urging both nations to exercise restraint. Baghaei stated that the growing tensions and clashes between two major nations, both of which share long-standing ties of friendship with Iran, are a matter of serious concern. He expressed hope that both parties would take steps toward de-escalation and prevent the situation from deteriorating further. Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who is currently on a visit to India, had also strongly condemned the Pahalgam terror attack and extended condolences to the people and government of India. Earlier this week, Araghchi visited Pakistan, leading a political delegation and holding meetings with his Pakistani counterpart, Ishaq Dar.
UAE
Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, urged both India and Pakistan to exercise restraint, de-escalate tensions and avoid further escalations, the government said in a statement.
Saudi Arabia
India had briefed officials of several countries, including Saudi Arabia, over Operation Sindoor. There were media reports claiming the Saudi side raised concerns and had urged both countries to de-escalate the matter. However, a formal statement is yet to be made public.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Aljubeir is in India on an "unannounced" visit and held talks with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday with a focus on de-escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. Aljubeir's visit to New Delhi comes as the already frosty ties between India and Pakistan plummet further following the Indian military's targeted strikes on nine terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.
