Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday highlighted India’s growing presence in space exploration while lauding India’s historic achievement of hoisting the national flag at the International Space Station (ISS). The Prime Minister’s remarks came during his address to the media ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla of the Indian Air Force made history as the first Indian to travel to the ISS as part of the Axiom-4 mission. Shubhanshu and the crew returned to Earth on July 15, after spending a total of 20 days in space, 18 of which were aboard the ISS.
PM Narendra Modi described the milestone as “a victory celebration” for the country and urged all MPs to unite in acknowledging it.
“This Monsoon session of Parliament is like a victory celebration. India's flag being hoisted at the International Space Station is a moment of pride for every Indian,” PM Modi said.

PM Modi also praised India's military power in reference to ‘Operation Sindoor’.

"Under Operation Sindoor, the houses of the masters of terrorists were razed to the ground within 22 minutes. The world has been very attracted to this new form of Made in India military power. These days, whenever I meet people of the world, the world's attraction towards the Made in India weapons being made by India is increasing,” the Prime Minister added, as per ANI.
PM Modi also mentioned about the dropping inflation rate in India.
"There was a time in the country before 2014 when the inflation rate was in double digits. Today, with the rate dropping to around two per cent, it has become a relief and a convenience in the lives of the common people in the country. 25 crore poor people have come out of poverty, which is being appreciated by many institutions of the world,” PM Modi said as quoted by news agency ANI.
