Parliament Breach: In a fresh development, Lalit Mohan Jha, who was arrested in the Parliament Security breach case and the mastermind behind the entire plot, and co-accused wanted to create anarchy in the country so that they could compel the government to meet their demands, the Delhi Police informed the city court, news agency PTI reported.
Jha, who hails from West Bengal, was sent to seven-day police custody on Friday. Police claimed in the Patiala House court that he admitted that the accused met many times to hatch the conspiracy to breach Parliament security. Additionally, he had to be questioned to find out if the accused was associated with any terrorist groups or foreign nations, the police said.
Talking about the future course of an investigation, a senior police officer said that they would be taking Jha to Rajasthan to trace the places where he threw his phone and burnt the phones of others.
The primary obstacle in the investigation is that the police do not possess the accused's mobile phones, which would enable them to track the origin of the conspiracy and ascertain the involvement of more people, the officer said.
Delhi Police Special Cell detained two more people in the Parliament breach case on Friday, suspected to be linked to the accused. The detained people were identified as Mahesh and Kailash. Both are residents of Rajasthan and have an alleged association with a social media group called 'Justice for Azad Bhagat Singh', the police said. The police are interrogating both Kailash and Mahesh Kumawat.
Earlier, during the investigation into the Parliament breach case, it was learnt that the attack had been planned months ago. Lalit was constantly monitoring news channels from the Rajasthani hotel to stay updated on the latest events and police movements.
