The Noida International Airport on Monday began its commercial flight operations, with the inauguration carried out by Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu. As the airport opens its doors to passengers, travellers are required to note an important detail while booking tickets, which is that the airport's official IATA (International Air Transport Association) code is DXN.

Going forward, Noida International Airport will be identified as DXN across airline websites, travel portals, flight schedules, boarding passes and baggage systems.

The passenger travelling to or From Noida International Airport will be required to enter DXN as the destination or departure point while booking a flight to or from the airport. Suppose the traveller wants to book a flight from Mumbai to Noida International Airport, he/she will have to enter DXN.

What is the IATA airport code?

An IATA airport code is a three-letter code which is used to identify an airport, defined by the International Air Transport Association.

-N stands for Noida, indicating the airport's geographical location.

-X symbolises global connectivity between India and international destinations.

However, it is important to note that IATA codes are primarily assigned as unique operational identifiers, and DXN was allocated through IATA's standard global code assignment process.
